The watch’s aesthetic is immediately striking. A deep red dial, long associated with prosperity and vitality, is complemented by warm, fiery subdials and a polished stainless steel case. The colour story continues through to the dark brown cordovan leather strap, crafted from horse hide and chosen for its durability, texture, and understated elegance.
Powering the watch is the Oris Calibre 113, one of the brand’s most sophisticated in-house movements. Hand-wound and offering an impressive 240-hour (10-day) power reserve, it features a non-linear power reserve indicator and a comprehensive business calendar displaying the day, date, week, and month. Around the edge of the dial, a discreet scale allows the week of the year to be read at a glance, an uncommon and thoughtful complication.
A distinctive design detail brings the theme to life: horse motifs appear within the power reserve indicator, shifting from a relaxed pose when energy is low to a galloping form when fully wound. This subtle animation reflects the rhythm of time itself, moments of calm balanced with surges of momentum.
Limited to just 88 pieces, a number associated with double luck and prosperity, the Year of the Horse Limited Edition is a symbol of intention, craftsmanship, and meaningful design. For collectors and connoisseurs alike, it represents a rare opportunity to mark a significant year with a timepiece of lasting value.
